AMHERST, Mass. – As the world switches from fossil fuels to renewable energy, new research by an international team including ³È×ÓÓ°Ôº Amherst economist  has found that different countries face different risks and opportunities in the face of this green transition.

Nine researchers at the ³È×ÓÓ°Ôº Amherst have been recognized for being among the world’s most highly cited researchers in 2021.

The analysis by Philadelphia-based Clarivate Analytics, owner of the , serves as the basis for regular listings of researchers whose citation records put them in the top 1 percent by citations for their field and year.

It's one thing to say "Black Lives Matter". But when people came together for Black Lives Matter Day at UMass Boston, it was for a different purpose: understanding what it means.

The 23rd annual UMass Cancer Walk and Run, held on Sunday, Oct. 17, at Polar Park in Worcester, is expected to bring in more than $700,000, exceeding fundraising goals.

Research by John P. Haran, MD, PhD, and Evan S. Bradley, MD, PhD, at UMass Chan Medical School, shows that patients with persistent long-COVID symptoms have oral microbiomes with a significantly higher abundance of bacteria that induce inflammation. These findings suggest an association between the oral microbiome and long COVID that may point to dysfunction in the oral microbiome as a contributor to long COVID.
