On July 30, NASA successfully launched its heaviest and most sophisticated Mars rover, named 鈥淧erseverance,鈥 from Cape Canaveral, Fla., aboard an Atlas V rocket. Among the thousands of people who鈥, Q. Perseverance will use a remote-sensing technique called laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, or LIBS, to study the chemical composition of the Martian surface.
